Softball Recap: Paramus Catholic Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Paramus Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Passaic Valley Hornets 5-4. That's more bragging rights for the Knght Paladins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brinley Sullivan spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dilynn Jeffries-El, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Kayleigh O'Hagan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Paramus Catholic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Paramus Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 12-3-1. As for Passaic Valley, they moved to 14-2 with that loss, which also ended their 13-game winning streak.

Paramus Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Fair Lawn on the 5th. As for Passaic Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-2 victory against Passaic County Tech on the 5th.
