Baseball Recap: Hooker Bulldogs vs. Boise City Wildcats
Hooker had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Boise City Wildcats 13-5. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.
Hunter Ray made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs but no hits (and only one walk). Ray was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Justin Palacios was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Trace Duncan was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hooker will venture away from home to face off against Beaver at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up.
