Basketball Game Preview: Venus Bulldogs vs. Godley Wildcats

Venus hasn't had much luck against Godley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Venus Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Godley Wildcats at 6:15 p.m.

Venus is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a 61-45 bruising from Hillsboro. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 858th, while the Eagles are ranked 379th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Godley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They breezed by Alvarado to the tune of 56-13 on Friday. That 43 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Godley moved to 10-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Venus, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Venus was taken down by Godley 59-26 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Venus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
