Basketball Recap: Tate Pintens' Big Game Can't Quite Lead El Segundo over Venice + How To Watch

El Segundo managed to slip by Venice the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Gondoliers on Friday, falling 62-38. The loss leaves the Eagles still looking for their first win of the season.

El Segundo's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tate Pintens, who posted seven points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Ostler, who earned seven points.

Venice got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ajonn Mitchell out in front who scored 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Mitchell is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Aiden Charron was another key player, putting up 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

El Segundo's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Venice, their record now sits at 2-4.

Looking ahead, El Segundo won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Vistamar at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Venice, they and Damien will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
