Basketball Recap: Cactus Shadows' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cactus Shadows had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Marcos de Niza Padres as they made off with a 70-50 victory. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Marcos de Niza's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Steward, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The game was Steward's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Jayden Mcgee was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

Cactus Shadows is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Marcos de Niza, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-10.

Cactus Shadows will host Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Arcadia has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three matchups. As for Marcos de Niza, they will head out on the road to challenge Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mesquite is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season.
