Basketball Recap: Aucilla Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against St. John Lutheran back in December of 2024, Aucilla Christian came back down to earth. The Aucilla Christian Warriors were beaten by the Branford Buccaneers 66-35 on Tuesday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Despite the loss, Aucilla Christian still got an impressive performance from Ethan Bass, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 26 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The game was Bass' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Walker, who posted four points.

Aucilla Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Branford, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6.

Aucilla Christian will take on Cornerstone Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Branford, they will challenge Oak Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Branford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Oak Hall likes a good challenge.
