Baseball Recap: Polytechnic Has No Trouble Against Carter-Riverside

Polytechnic hadn't done well against Carter-Riverside recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Polytechnic Parrots blew past the Carter-Riverside Eagles 16-3. The Parrots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Tomas Sanchez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jose Acosta also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Polytechnic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

The victory got Polytechnic back to even at 2-2-1. As for Carter-Riverside, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Polytechnic and Carter-Riverside will both be playing Adamson the next time they take the field. Carter-Riverside will host Adamson at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, while Polytechnic will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
