Volleyball Recap: Triton Takes a Loss

If Triton was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Bend Career Academy on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Pilgrims/Rockies: they've now lost eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, 22-25, 25-13.

Avery Viers paced Triton's offense, picking up 15 kills. Viers got some help from Sophie Howell and her 12 assists. Finally, Viers was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Triton's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Plymouth, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-11.

Coming up, Triton will venture away from home to take on Caston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plymouth, they will host Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
