Football Recap: South Plantation Takes a Loss

South Plantation has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 14.5 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They were beaten by the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs 32-0. The loss was the Paladins' first of the season.

McKenzie Livermore threw for 158 yards on 11 of 30 attempts. Chanel Barthelemy was her top target, picking up 63 receiving yards.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia found their leader in freshman Maliyah Newton, who threw for 180 yards and five touchdowns. Newton is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for four or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Plantation fell to 3-1. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
