Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oaks Christian). They walked away with a 12-9 win over the Agoura Chargers on Thursday. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Justus Baird looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Oaks Christian let Dane Disney and Jack Brinkman run wild. Disney went 1-for-4 with one home run and five RBI, while Brinkman scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those two runs gave Brinkman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Sheffer, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Oaks Christian pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Agoura, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Oaks Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Agoura: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
