Soccer Game Preview: Burnet vs. Austin Achieve

Burnet hasn't had much luck against Austin Achieve recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Polar Bears at 7:00 p.m. Burnet will be strutting in after a win while Austin Achieve will be coming in after a defeat.

Burnet is coming into the match on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They came out on top against Eastside Early College by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Austin Achieve was not quite Jarrell's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1.

Austin Achieve's goal came courtesy of Max Catana, which was the first he's scored this season.

Austin Achieve's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 5-7-1. As for Burnet, their win bumped their record up to 3-7-2.

Burnet suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Austin Achieve in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
