Soccer Game Preview: Tennyson vs. Encinal

The Tennyson Lancers will face off against the Encinal Jets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Encinal took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tennyson, who comes in off a win.

Tennyson will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Friday, then bounced right back against San Lorenzo on Wednesday. The Lancers came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 4-2. Considering Tennyson's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Encinal didn't have quite enough to beat Arroyo on Wednesday and fell 3-2. Encinal haven't had much luck with Arroyo recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Encinal's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Tennyson, their win bumped their record up to 7-1-7.

Everything went Tennyson's way against Encinal in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, as Tennyson made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
