Baseball Recap: Glendale Takes a Loss

Glendale's last matchup with Sierra Linda could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Wednesday. The Cardinals lost 8-1 to the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-5 last Monday.

Glendale saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Najera, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Glendale is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6. As for Sierra Linda, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7.

Coming up, Glendale will be playing at home against Carl Hayden Community at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Sierra Linda, they will head out on the road to challenge Washington at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
