Preview: Canterbury Crusaders vs. Sarasota Christian Blazers
After two games on the road, Canterbury is heading back home. They will take on the Sarasota Christian Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Canterbury struggled with assists on Monday (American Collegiate Academy had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Canterbury received a tough blow as they fell 60-43 to American Collegiate Academy.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Charles Wilder, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Calhoun, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sarasota Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 54-50 to Indian Rocks Christian.
Canterbury has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Sarasota Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Everything came up roses for Canterbury against Sarasota Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 85-35 win. With Canterbury ahead 37-13 at the half, the match was all but over already.
