Meanwhile, South Caldwell won against Southeast Guilford on Tuesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Spartans walked away with a 7-2 victory over Watauga. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

South Caldwell's win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Marvin Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
