Basketball Recap: Alief Taylor Takes a Loss

Alief Taylor was the 55-38 winner over Strake Jesuit when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Alief Taylor Lions took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Strake Jesuit Fighting Crusaders on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 762nd, while the Fighting Crusaders are ranked 140th).

This is the second loss in a row for Alief Taylor and nudges their season record down to 8-15. As for Strake Jesuit, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.

Alief Taylor will face off against George Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Strake Jesuit, they will challenge Alief Hastings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
