Baseball Game Preview: Thornwell Saints vs. Southside Tigers

The Thornwell Saints are taking a road trip to face off against the Southside Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Thornwell fell victim to American Leadership Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 14-0.

Meanwhile, Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 41st straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to Berea.

Thornwell has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-24.

Thornwell took their victory against Southside in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
