Softball Recap: Shelby Takes a Loss

Shelby fell victim to Lincolnton and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 15-0 to the Lincolnton Wolves. Golden Lions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Wolves since on Wednesday.

Shelby's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lincolnton, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shelby will square off against Cherryville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Cherryville knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Shelby likes a good challenge. As for Lincolnton, they will challenge South Point at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
