Basketball Recap: Oxon Hill Clippers vs. Friendly Patriots

The Oxon Hill Clippers can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They breezed by Friendly at home to the tune of 65-12. Winning may never get old, but Oxon Hill sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

It was another big night for Madison Williams, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times she's played. Chi Igwe was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Friendly struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Oxon Hill racked up 12 assists.

Oxon Hill's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. As for Friendly, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.

Oxon Hill won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. College Park Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Clippers are ranked 60th). As for Friendly, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Fairmont Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
