Softball Recap: Republic County Has No Trouble Against Blue Valley

Republic County's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Blue Valley Rams as Republic County made off with a 9-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Buffaloes: when they faced off against the Rams on Tuesday, they had to take a 9-3 loss.

Drew Skocny made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Skocny wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kimberly Popelka, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

The win got Republic County back to even at 1-1. As for Blue Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Republic County will welcome Concordia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Blue Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Onaga at 4:30 p.m. on April 3.
