Volleyball Recap: Del Lago Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Del Lago Academy had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Oceanside Pirates on Tuesday. For the Firebirds, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

While Del Lago Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Oceanside scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 20-25, 26-24, 25-22.

Del Lago Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-16. As for Oceanside, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Del Lago Academy and Oceanside will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Del Lago Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Tri-City Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Oceanside will challenge rival Valley Center at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
