Softball Recap: Tavares' Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Tavares never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Master's Academy Eagles by a score of 4-0. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Eagles back in March, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

Emersyn Lee made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Lee wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aliyah Cantu-Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Cantu-Lopez hit this season.

The win was the third in a row for Tavares, bringing their record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Master's Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-11.

Coming up, Tavares will head out to square off against Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Yellow Jackets at the right time seeing as the Yellow Jackets are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Master's Academy, they will welcome Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
