League recap: Bestor breaks off league-leading run for Massena

Massena's Justin Bestor recorded the longest rushing play in Section 7/10 Class A this season in his game against Williams last week. Bestor ran for 89 yards on the play and finished with 120 on the day as his team bested the Golden Bears.

Potsdam extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ogdensburg Free Academy, 30-28. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Sandstoners.

Massena's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Rory Corcoran threw for 65 and two touchdowns and Bestor had 47 yards receiving. Tyler Simms helped Massena's passing attack out by catching one ball for 18 yards.

5-foot-11 quarterback Corcoran of Anthony Diagostino's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 429. He has also thrown two touchdowns. On the ground, Potsdam's Oden Roberston has rushed for 641 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jacob Woods. The Potsdam star has three catches for 120 yards.

The Red Raiders took down Williams 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bestor in the win.
