Basketball Game Preview: Kenwood Knights vs. Springfield Yellow Jackets

Kenwood and Springfield are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Kenwood Knights will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Springfield Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Springfield took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Kenwood, who comes in off a win.

Kenwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 58-9 win over Warren Central. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kenwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zakiya White, who posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave White a new career-high in points. Yazmine Pearson was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Springfield entered their contest against Mount Juliet on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Springfield took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mount Juliet.

Kenwood's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Springfield, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.
