Basketball Recap: Bard Comes Up Short

After flying high against Southwestern last Friday, Bard came back down to earth. The Bard Falcons were beaten by the McDonough Rams 71-44 on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 25th in District of Columbia, while the Rams are ranked 119th in Maryland).

Bard's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for McDonough, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

The future could be bright for both Bard and McDonough: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Bard will try to hand Anacostia their 14th-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, McDonough will look to extend North Point's three-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
