Softball Recap: Marion Giants vs. Jay County Patriots

Marion extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 5-12 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Jay County Patriots. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Giants couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jasmine Weaver made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Jay County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by ten runs or more this season.

On Jay County's side, they let Morgan Missicano and Chloe Brown run wild. Missicano got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Brown got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenna Ruble, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Marion has already played their next contest, a 16-1 defeat against Eastern on the 10th. As for Jay County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-5 victory against Elwood on the 10th.
