Valley Forge had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fairview Warriors on Friday, sneaking past 6-5. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Valley Forge saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Frank, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Kyle Kalinowski was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Valley Forge and Fairview will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Patriots are set to face off against their familiar foe Normandy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Fairview will square off against rival Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
