Recap: IMG Academy Ascenders vs. Wasatch Academy Tigers
The IMG Academy Ascenders pushed their score all the way to 77 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 90-77 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wasatch Academy. While losing is never fun, IMG Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 52nd in Florida, while Wasatch Academy is ranked third in Utah).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wasatch Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isiah Harwell, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Harwell's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of John Mobley Jr., who scored 18 points along with six assists.
IMG Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Wasatch Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
IMG Academy will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Tampa Catholic at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Tampa Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Wasatch Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against La Lumiere at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. La Lumiere has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 850 points over their last ten games.
