Basketball Recap: Kingsbury Takes a Loss

Kingsbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 89-33 loss at the hands of the Memphis Central Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while the Warriors are ranked 57th).

Memphis Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamauri Johnson, who posted 19 points. The matchup was Johnson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaylon Evans, who earned 18 points.

Kingsbury's record is now 0-11. As for Memphis Central, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Kingsbury won't have much time to rest: their next game is against City University School of Liberal Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Memphis Central, they will face off against Memphis East at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
