Softball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-1 to the Williamsburg Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 on Thursday.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Williamsburg, the win was the tenth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Independence will look to defend their home field on Monday against Solon at 5:30 p.m. This will be the Mustangs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Williamsburg, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-2 loss against West Liberty on the 31st.
