The Spring Valley Grizzlies will head out to challenge the Del Sol Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Spring Valley took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Valley 29-6. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Antwan Osborne produced another solid effort rushing for 96 yards and one score on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 94 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. King Kahalewai was in the mix as well, providing Spring Valley with two TDs.
Spring Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Kahalewai picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. Spring Valley got some further help from Lito Olivas: he picked up two sacks and made eight total tackles.
Meanwhile, Del Sol posted their closest win since October 10, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Pinecrest Academy Cadence 18-16.
Spring Valley better keep an eye on Ameer Williams. He was instrumental in Del Sol's win, rushing for 102 yards and a pair of scores. They are 2-1 when Williams posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
The victory got Del Sol back to even at 3-3. As for Spring Valley, their record now sits at 4-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Spring Valley has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 365.8 total yards per game. It's a different story for Del Sol, though, as they've been averaging only 203.7 total yards. Will Spring Valley be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Dragons flip the script?
Spring Valley barely slipped by Del Sol in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 13-12. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
