Softball Game Preview: Falls Lake Firebirds vs. Roxboro Community Bulldogs

Falls Lake hasn't had much luck against Roxboro Community recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Falls Lake will be playing at home against Roxboro Community at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Falls Lake is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Oxford Prep. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Daisy Tunstall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Falls Lake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Horton, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Roxboro Community didn't have quite enough to beat Cedar Ridge on Thursday and fell 10-9.
