Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson Wildcats vs. Elida Bulldogs

The Jefferson Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Elida Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jefferson is looking for their season's first victory.

Allen East hit Jefferson with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 13-3 to the Mustangs.

Jefferson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Millmine, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. That run was Millmine's first of the season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Elida's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Ottawa-Glandorf by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Elida, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Jefferson couldn't quite get it done against Elida in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 11-8. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
