Volleyball Recap: Hanover Area Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

The Hanover Area Hawkeyes made easy work of the North Pocono Trojans on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-14, 25-21.

Hanover Area's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ireneo Panecatl, who had ten digs, eight aces, and one block. Those eight aces gave Panecatl a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chance Hall, who had 15 digs, nine kills, three aces, and one block.

They weren't the only good server: Hanover Area was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive games.

Hanover Area's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for North Pocono, their defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanover Area will square off against Delaware Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Pocono, they will face off against Crestwood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
