Basketball Recap: West Jones Comes Up Short

West Jones extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 70-49 to the Collins Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 51-33 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

As for Collins, the win got them back to even at 1-1. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since January 17th (when they won 59-28).

Collins' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tywon Barnes led the charge by putting up 13 points and seven rebounds. Those 13 points gave Barnes a new career-high. Isom Price was another key player, earning 12 points and six boards.

Looking ahead, West Jones will challenge Heidelberg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Collins, they will take on Stone at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
