Basketball Recap: Wilmington Wildcats vs. Peotone Blue Devils
Wilmington was the 46-42 winner over Peotone when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Wilmington Wildcats were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 54-53 to the Peotone Blue Devils. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blue Devils 16-9 in the first quarter.

Wilmington's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Nelson, who en route to 16 points. Nelson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Lucas Rink was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.
Wilmington's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Peotone, they pushed their record up to 13-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Wilmington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-50 victory against Streator on the 18th. As for Peotone, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-45 win against Herscher on the 19th.
