Basketball Recap: Liam Mckinney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Johnsburg Central over Chazy

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Johnsburg Central can now relate to. They fell 52-45 to the Chazy Eagles on Wednesday. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 52-47.

Johnsburg Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liam McKinney, who posted 12 points and five steals. Johnsburg Central is 2-1 when McKinney posts five or more steals, but 8-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Sauer-Jones, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Johnsburg Central and nudges their season record down to 10-10. As for Chazy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-10.

Johnsburg Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Bolton Central will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Chazy surely won't give up without a fight.
