Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Hurricanes vs. Bethel Bruins

The Heritage Hurricanes will venture away from home to square off against the Bethel Bruins at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Heritage will be strutting in after a victory while Bethel will be coming in after a defeat.

Heritage will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two points on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Gloucester on Thursday. Heritage blew past Gloucester 87-48. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Dukes are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Bethel lost 74-52 to Denbigh on Thursday. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bethel now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Heritage barely slipped by Bethel when the teams last played on Tuesday, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heritage since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
