Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Big Lake

Big Lake waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Zimmerman Thunder 10-2. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Brendan Goedker, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Conner Lundquist, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Big Lake pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Zimmerman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Coming up, Big Lake will be playing in front of their home fans against Foley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Zimmerman, they will head out to challenge North Branch at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
