 It was a good run, but  Elkhart unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Monday. They took  a  7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jimtown Jimmies. Having soared to a lofty 12  runs in the game before, Elkhart couldn't push the score so high this time.
  Brennon Whickcar was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out eight over 4.1 innings pitched.
 At the plate, Elkhart saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Quinn Rost, who  went 1-for-3 with a  double.
 Even though they lost, Elkhart  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with ten  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 On Jimtown's side,  Dalton Cook tossed a big game,   pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off   six  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Brandon Smith was  excellent,  going 3-for-3 with two  RBI and a  double.
 Having lost for the first time this season, Elkhart  fell to 3-1. As for Jimtown, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
 Elkhart has the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome NorthWood at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. NorthWood is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.2  runs per game this season. As for Jimtown, they will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Goshen at 5:30  p.m. Jimtown is facing Goshen at the right time seeing as Goshen is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
