Softball Recap: Northwood Has No Trouble Against Warsaw

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carroll, NorthWood was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Warsaw Tigers as they made off with a 12-2 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Brooklyn Davis and Payton Sears did most of the damage at the plate: Davis went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Sears went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two doubles gave Davis a new career-high. Natalia Vega was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

NorthWood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

NorthWood's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-5. As for Warsaw, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, NorthWood will head out to face off against Mishawaka at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavemen will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Warsaw, they will be playing at home against Northridge at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
