Softball Game Preview: Segerstrom Jaguars vs. Mayfair Monsoons

The Segerstrom Jaguars will face off against the Mayfair Monsoons at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Segerstrom is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Segerstrom is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Chaparral 21-3 on Saturday. With that victory, the Jaguars brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Jaden Fraser was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Juliana Altamirano was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Fraser wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Segerstrom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for Segerstrom: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Mayfair's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 10-2 to Downey.

Segerstrom's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Mayfair, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
