Preview: Kosciusko Whippets vs. St. Joseph Catholic Bruins
The Kosciusko Whippets will head out on the road to face off against the St. Joseph Catholic Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Kosciusko sitting on five straight victories and St. Joseph Catholic on seven.
Last Saturday, Kosciusko strolled past Forest with points to spare, taking the game 52-33.
Kosciusko's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew Mancell led the charge by scoring 7 points along with 9 rebounds and 8 blocks. Another player making a difference was Ryan Tillman, who scored 13 points.
St. Joseph Catholic has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 26 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 56-30 margin over Clinton Christian Academy. Given St. Joseph Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Clinton Christian Academy is ranked 171st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kosciusko's win bumped their season record to 7-3 while Forest's defeat dropped theirs to 3-6.
