Basketball Recap: Hilltop Piles Up the Points Against Chula Vista Learning Community Charter

Hilltop entered their tilt with Chula Vista Learning Community Charter on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Cobras 60-26. The Lancers pushed the score to 53-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cobras cut but never quite recovered from.

Hilltop was led to victory by Adrian Alvarez and James Devin. Alvarez posted eight points in addition to seven assists and six boards, while Devin went 8 for 14 on his way to 18 points. The contest was Devin's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roman Miramontes, who put up eight points and nine rebounds.

Hilltop's victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Hilltop won't have much time to rest: their next match is against High Tech CV at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hilltop is facing High Tech CV at the right time seeing as High Tech CV is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Chula Vista Learning Community Charter, they will take on Mountain Empire in a tournament on Thursday.
