Covington scored a shocking upset when it eliminated St. Paul, 38-7. At the time, the Wolves were ranked 24th in the state, while the Lions were 34th.

Ponchatoula added to the longest winning streak in 5A District 6 this week by beating Fontainebleau, 69-51. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

The leading receiver in the league this season is Kj Hopkins. The Northshore star has 22 catches for 474 yards.

Next week's game between Mandeville and Northshore will feature an aerial matchup as Glen Cuiellette tests his arm against Dominic Ambo's defensive ability. For the year, the Skippers' Cuiellette has managed 1,426 yards and 13 touchdowns, while Ambo has 5 interceptions for the Panthers.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when St. Paul takes on Ponchatoula. As it stands, Kenny Sears' team is in fourth, while Mike Baimonte's team is in first.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Mandeville takes on Northshore. Guy Lecompte's team has allowed 79 points this season, while Mike Bourg's team has given up 146. The Skippers allowed 7 points last week as they bested Slidell.

Covington was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Wolves. Greg Salter's team came in at 20 in the state poll after placing at number 34 last week.
