Centereach scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to Sachem East 75-71. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sachem East apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Despite the loss, Centereach still got an impressive performance from Haniel Merejo, who posted 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael?Ange Edmond, who put up 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Centereach and nudges their season record down to 1-7. As for Sachem East, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Centereach will face off against Deer Park at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Sachem East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
