The long painful wait for Serra (Gardena, Calif.) senior cornerback and wide receiver Adoree' Jackson is over.

The nation's No. 7 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite Rankings and No. 1 cornerback nationally, is headed to USC.

The fleet, game-breaking cornerback and wide receiver picked USC over UCLA, Florida and LSU.

Jackson has been visibly shaken by the recruiting process, according to Serra coach Scott Altenberg. That's because the 5-foot-10, 182-pounder is a people person, his coach said, and hates to let others down.

"He looked like he aged 10 years," Altenberg said last week. "One-hundred percent I am feeling for him. Every time I see him, I just want to go over and hug him."

Jackson is a hard-hitting, athletic cornerback who also is one of the nation's top long jumpers and one of the state's top sprinters. The experts expected Jackson to sign with USC, largely because Serra's pipeline to the Trojans even though Altenberg is a graduate and big backer of UCLA.

Former Serra All-American receivers Robert Woods, George Farmer and Marqis Lee all went to USC, as will Serra's 2013 quarterback Jalen Greene.

At least Jackson is now out of misery.

"It's such a personal choice and he's such a personable and relationship guy, it makes it excruciating for him," Altenberg said last week.

Jackson's decision will no doubt shake up the college team recruiting rankings. Florida and LSU were ranked among the top 10 in the nation for the Class of 2014 and USC and UCLA among the top 30.
