South Vermillion is 9-1 against North Vermillion since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wildcats will welcome the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when South Vermillion and Northview meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Wildcats took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.
Rosie Travioli was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while it was North Vermillion who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was West Vigo who put up more. The Falcons lost 16-6 to the Vikings. The Falcons have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Ava Jumps made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Olivia Baker was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
South Vermillion's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for North Vermillion, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Vermillion hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like North Vermillion struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
