Baseball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oskaloosa Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on June 4th.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Oskaloosa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Newton will challenge rival Indianola at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Oskaloosa is set to face off against their familiar foe Norwalk at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
