Piedra Vista has gone 9-1 against Aztec recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Piedra Vista Panthers face off against the Aztec Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Piedra Vista took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-30 win over Tohatchi.

Meanwhile, everything went Aztec's way against Bayfield on Thursday as Aztec made off with a 42-19 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Piedra Vista better keep an eye on Jazzlyn Gomez. She was instrumental in Aztec's win, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten steals. Gomez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Dominguez, who posted two points in addition to nine steals and five boards.

The win got Piedra Vista back to even at 7-7. As for Aztec, their record now sits at 7-5.

Piedra Vista was able to grind out a solid victory over Aztec when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 36-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for Piedra Vista since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
